I hope you are all keeping well, I wanted to send an update on how the course had progressed to date and also to say a huge thank you to those of who have already referred your clients. To date we have had 25 people attend the program and each one has completed the course successfully. We have received amazing feedback from participants with some even asking for follow up courses!

I’m aware not all of you know what we do, so here’s a brief recap. We teach a basic customer service course which provides skills on working with customers as well as working within an organisation. The class is specifically designed for adults 18+ who have a learning disability.

Our classes have been designed to teach a wide range of abilities. Our classes are taught in small groups of no more than 4 at a time and we use a multitude of teaching styles such as online teaching course, use of our specially designed workbooks and interactive play to accommodate for different peoples learning styles. Our most popular is often the role play exercise of the sessions.

At the end of the class sessions we work with our students to get paid work placements where possible with some of our employment partners. Our placements range from 2- 3 weeks after which some companies offer permanent paid positions. So far to date, we have had 6 of our candidates secure long term permanent positions. Examples of some our partner companies are:

– Borna Foods

– McDonalds

– Under 1 Roof

– Mediequip

– Daily Fish Supplies

Our employment partners have been brilliant at providing real paid opportunities for our clients and we hope to continue to increase that number of companies working with us which in turn means we have more opportunities for our clients to be offered permanent employment..
